I had a full management service from my lettings agents from 2014. Unfortunately they 'forgot' to protect the tenants deposit. This has caused immense problems for me as a single property landlord (inherited granma's house). I paid for full management to ease the stress of keeping the house on. I am now going through a very difficult process re. tenants deposit for the mess and rent arrears that the tenant left.

"experienced and professional service for buy-to-let landlords". I don't think so. I would never recommend this lettings agency to anyone. Having paid for full management, but HM Lettings failing to protect the deposit; being told verbally that they would 'sort it out for me' but hence receiving no response in answer to my many, many emails complaining or how they plan to resolve the issue; but yesterday simply told by email: The deposit needs to go back to the tenant as you are aware, this was not registered, so to claim for the dilapidations this will have to be taken to court. And whose fault is that? So I am left with a house that has over £1000 worth of damage left by the tenant; I have done everything by the book, and I stand to lose out. But I should "put my complaint in writing". Which I have done; again and again. Disgusted... P.S: I'm not a 'business' landlord; I have a house that was my gran's and that I still have a mortgage on and opted for full management so everything would be stress free and done the right way, regardless of the cost. I think that was rather niaive of me...
